This book was published at the same time as Wonderfully Strange. It is a useful companion to Wonderfully Strange whilst also being a good read in its own right.
This book is a collection of experiences from people experiencing mental health difficulties all at different stages of their journey to discovering themselves. It was written by members of the Rushcliffe mental health support group and is in an easy to pick up and read format. The experiences are varied and show just how different we all are.
The group wrote their experiences separately but then came together to run some focus groups on specific areas of what helped and what didn't help their mental health. This was a way of tapping into the core ideas in order to give ideas for people who were also struggling and their family and friends on things they could try out that had been shown to help the majority of the group members.
Filled with creative pieces of art this book gives real meaning to what it is like to experience mental health distress day to day.
